A native Californian, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Nebraska, after which I returned to California where I have been practicing Dental Hygiene since 2014. During that time, I noticed an increasing number of adult patients suffering from orthodontic relapse, mouth-breathing, and facial muscle issues. Similarly in my pediatric patients, I saw an increase in crowding of the primary teeth. Unwilling to accept these processes as nothing more than “common problems”, my research into how and why these patterns existed led me to the field of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT), which offered a holistic approach to whole body health starting at the mouth.
Building upon my background in Dental Hygiene, I began my training in the field of OMT with the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. I am receiving/pursuing continuing education in this field with further courses from leaders in the field. Empowered by the tools OMT offers, I have been able to further educate patients, help them establish a healthier life, and be proactive with optimal oral health and functions.
If you feel you may benefit from OMT or have further questions about how OMT can help you, please use the form below to schedule your consultation.
