I am a first-generation, Vietnamese-American who was born and raised in Orange County, California.
In 2010, I received my BA in Communication at California State University of Long Beach. Then, in 2014, I received my license as a Registered Dental Hygienist through Cerritos College, and was trained in OMT through the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy. Since then, my passion for continued learning, educating, and treating others within these fields continued to grow. Like many OMTs, I saw how so many people could benefit from this therapy, including my patients, family, and myself! However, the significance of this mission grew exponentially and was greatly reinforced once I had my baby in 2022 - Atticus.
Atticus was a full term delivery, but due to complications, he spent some time in the NICU. Once we took him home, I immediately applied my OMT training to help correct his oral habits. We released his tethered oral tissues, and worked with a Speech Language Pathologist who specializes in feeding and is trained in OMT. Thanks to our interdisciplinary team and OMT, Atticus is now happy and thriving! He is a wonderful latcher, eater, and (for the most part) keeps his tongue lifted in proper resting posture!
My goals are to educate and improve the quality of life of as many individuals as possible through OMT. For parents, I understand the stress that surrounds trying to figure out what is best for our children. I love that our work is supported by research and that we collaborate with various healthcare professionals for a broader perspective that works towards a common goal. I hope to offer some peace of mind through our holistic and minimally invasive approach.
